Ingredients
500 g (1 lb.) Salt Meat
2 L (2 qt.) Water
375 ml (1 1/2 c.) diced Turnip
500 ml (2 c.) split Peas
250 ml (1 c.) diced Carrots
125 ml (1/2 c.) chopped Onion
250 ml (1 c.) diced Potatoes
Method
Cut salt meat in small pieces, soak overnight in cold water. Soak peas overnight in cold
water. Place meat in pot with water and peas. Boil for 30 min. Add turnip, carrot, and
onions and cook for 1 hour. Add potatoes and cook until tender. Serve with
dumplings.
